Radiation Burn, Causes & Possible Remedies

In my presentation (TBA), I'll explain some aspects of radiation burn (RB). Which is aka radiation dermatitis (RD), the technical term and suggest some solutions.

-Explain some reasons the skin becomes red and irritated due to radiation treatment (invasive opportunistic bacteria(s).)

-I'll discuss how our immune system responds to damaged skin and how this further complicates RB.

As estheticians you're familiar with the wound healing process.

Going a step farther, we'll look at how the the overgrowth of one bacteria, when receiving radiation treatment, can further complicate damaging the skin.

When overwhelmed, the wound healing process is set into overdrive.

Q - What might be a solution to help radiation dermatitis from causing damage to the skin?

Q - How might we direct our clients in the right direction to follow-up with their doctor?

Finally, I'll offer a solution that may help avoid radiation burn, or at the least minimize the damaging effects.
